"How old is your washing machine?" is almost the wrong question.
Where your machine sits in its working life determines what's likely to be wrong, whether it's worth repairing, and what's coming next.
And on a young machine there's one check worth doing before you pay anybody. It's below.

What fails here: door interlocks, control boards, pressure switches, and sensors — plus genuine manufacturing faults. Mechanical wear hasn't started, so early faults are electrical, electronic, or something that was never right.
